Unit 4: Perspective

Perspective- creates the illusion of space and depth within a drawing

One Point Perspective- uses a single vanishing point on a horizon line (think of how a railroad track looks as if it converges to one point in the distance)

_________________________________________________________________

Two Point Perspective - uses 2 vanishing points (left and right vanishing points) on a horizon line to create the illusion of space.  (think of standing at the corner of a building looking down two streets at the same time)
_________________________________________________________________

Three Point Perspective - uses 3 vanishing points (left, right and TOP vanishing points) to create the illusion of space.  (think of laying in front of a building looking up at the skyline).  EVERY line drawn using this perspective goes to one of the three vanishing points.
